How to continue your college studies as an immigrant in USA?

I'm doing my B.E. from a reputed college in India and is leaving for USA after the second year.

What is the possibility of my resuming the course in USA? If not,I have heard about community colleges giving affordable education for immigrants before the attainment of permanent resident-ship.If so,how can I get a transfer from these to any reputed colleges like MIT or Harvard??How to continue your college studies as an immigrant in USA?
What kind of visa will you have when you move to the US? If you don't have a visa or are getting a greencard through your family you can't just move to the US.

In order to get a student visa, you will need to get accepted by an university or college first.

Depending what your situation is you might be much better off if you finish your undergrad degree in India and make sure you have excellent grades and also a history of community involvement. Then you might be able to get accepted at a well known grad school for a masters or PhD program. How to continue your college studies as an immigrant in USA?
I hope you understand that MIT and Harvard are extremely difficult to get into. You need to have grades beyond perfect. And these cost about US$60,000 per year.

However, lower level US Universities can be easy to transfer to IF your family has enough money to send you. You can go to a lower level US University for perhaps $40,000 per year. A school like West Virginia University would be happy to accept you if your grades are average or better.

Juat be aware that Community Colleges in the US, for out of country students cost almost as much as going to a real university but the degree they give cannot lead to a green card or even an H-1B.
If you are unsure about the process, and if you truly want to do everything right and legal, you should find legal guidance. I recommend you an immigration lawyer in Los Angeles, Ali Taheripour.
