How do you get your teacher to not be a jerk?

i have this teacher who is always bagging on everyone and can be happy and crackin jokes and then yelling and screaaming one minute...what do i do???????????How do you get your teacher to not be a jerk?
Don't be a jerk y ourself. do your work and have it ready. Teachers rag on kids who don't do their work and are not prepared. So be prepared.

Teachers don't want to waste their time on students who don't care, but sometimes they have to, but they may lose patience at times.

If you do what you are supposed to do, then the chances of being ragged on will be much less. If teacher is unfair in the comments or it is not justified, then choose different teacher next year. Can talk to parent and go to principal if it is too bad. Should not be abusive even verbally, but that means not hurting the student emotionally. Teachers may yell a bit. Not in great control if screaming. But some teachers vary in temperament. Coaches are usually a bit mroe hot tempered.

Just try to do your job and if there is some conflict, try to stay out of the teacher's eye as far as talking in class, not having work done, etc.

How to Plant Tomatoes?

Okay so i've been wanting to plant a small garden and i decided to start with tomatoes. The problem is that i don't know what to do.... I need help from what to buy to how to plant and water it and anything necessary to have healthy organic and delicious tomatoes so please let me know......I need it to be very DETAILED and please DUMB IT down as much as possible cause this is my first time doing it....i want it to be AS SIMPLE AS POSSIBLE AND VERY UNDERSTANDABLE thanks for your help:

So first tell me what i will have to buy then how to start my tomatoes and then how to keep them healthy and anything else i will need to knowHow to Plant Tomatoes?
the best way to start is to go a place that sells starter plants that are already about 5 inches tall.

And plant those. they only cost about $1 each.

they sell them at wallmart, homedepot, lowes, and garden stores. How to Plant Tomatoes?
I understand where you are coming from, but you are asking an awful lot from Yahoo Answerers! You really need to call your county agricultural agent and ask him/her to recommend a good publication that discusses local tomato growing. You also should visit local garden centers/nurseries/garden shops to look at the merchandise and pick the brains of the experts there. Note I use the word ';local'; a lot - local is important because the folks at Yahoo are world-wide and growing tomatoes is different(very) from place to place. Best of luck to you!

P.S. I already have a dozen cherry tomatoes on my ';Sweet 100'; plants here in north Texas!
First thing I'd advise is plant only indeterminate hybrids, like jet star, big beef, or burpee's super-steak if you really want them big, Large Red Cherry's are good if you want them that small, Lemon Boys if you want them yellow, and Pink Girls if you like the Pink. Obtain them anywhere, all these are at least as popular as any varieties sold so you should have no problem getting any of these. De-terminates, or semi De-terminates I've never found one I personally can eat, they taste too much like what you buy in the store, the varieties I've listed all have Heirloom taste, and produce a lot of tomatoes,, the Large Red Cherry's are not hybrids but they produce a lot of big cherry tomatoes and taste great. Planting, for each plant, dig a hole at least a foot or more deep, get some good compost put at least one shovel full for every shovel of dirt. Set the Plant in the hole at least beyond the first two starter leaves and if they are still on the plant remove them. There are methods of getting the first tomatoes, by using only one stem, and then making new plants out of any stems cut from the first plant, and you will need advice on how to support these plants as Indeterminates grow up to 12 to 14 feet tall, and if you get some advice from you local horticulture university, they will make your endeavor what you want it too be, I am limited by what your specifications are about the size of your garden, and how much, so this isn't much but if you want taste and lot's of tomatoes pick from the ones I recommended.
Go to the Nursery and purchase the type of tomato you wish to grow ?

Till your soil adding some composted Cow Manure,

if possible make a raised bed, that way it will be high off the ground and deep and lose for the roots to go deep.

Dig a hole wider then the pot , if it's a peet pot you peel off the plastic band that comes with it that identifies the company and tomato, you don't want plastic in the soil, remove the bottom of the peet pot and loosen the root ball place the Tomato plant in the hole well past the the 2 bottom leaves of the plant. make sure the root ball is touching the earth and fill in with remaining soil, now , get some Tomato cages and place over the plant, this is so the plant will grow straight and not fall over. with your spade make a circle around the plant like a basin and fill with water. Add a few sprinkles of Epsom Salts about 15 days after planting,

If putting in more then one plant, make rows 2 feet by 2 feet apart, this will allow room for growth and make it real easy for you to go around each plant to tend it, and weed it effectively.

When you water your tomato's do not wet the leaves just water as indicated in the basin you created

and do not water late into the evening, the plant should not go to bed wet or you risk desease, slugs etc. that's pretty much all I have, check with the nursery in your area for additional info. Best of luck
This site has alot of good tips on tomatoes.

I don't know why I continue to get the red bumps. Is there something that I am doing wrong? How exactly do you shave your pubes?
Just use a sharp razor with water and avoid all the lotions. How exactly do you shave your pubes?
I don't shave mine. I trim. But I would think it would be a lot easier to use that dissolving cream instead of a razor to shave your pubes.
my girlfriend shaves mine because its impossible to know what a women wonts and likes XD she usally shaves every thing around my cock and trims my puvbes....i know its weird but eh aat least i get laid XD
Use Barber Scissors, Thats what I use(never have red bumps)

How do I explain this thing people do when they are stressed (Random and hard to explain but meh)?

You know when soemones kind of stressed out or irritated they might like, hard to explain but you know the part of your nose directly between your eyes? You know when people sometimes kind of rub it with their finger and thumb if in stress? Its kinda hard to explain but you know what I mean...right?

I need to explain someone doing this in my story and I don't really know how to put it without sounding stupid (like above) So could anyone give me an example of how to word it? And does everyone know what I mean by that?

Best answer....gets best answer :P Thanks. How do I explain this thing people do when they are stressed (Random and hard to explain but meh)?
The place you are talking about is the bridge of the nose. It's described as rubbing the bridge of your nose. How do I explain this thing people do when they are stressed (Random and hard to explain but meh)?
Anna pinched the bridge of her nose and sighed miserably.

Charles audibly gnashed his teeth, placing the back of his hand to the slope of his nose and holding it there for a long moment, he was clearly aggravated.

I've seen that area of nose you are referring to referenced as both the ';bridge of the nose,'; and the ';slope of the nose.'; These are just two made-up sentences to show you an example of both.

Blast someone beat me to part of my answer!

Are you using David Allen's GTD system and how has it improved your life?

I am looking at ways to get organized and declutter my life. I recently bumped into a leture that David Allen did for google and bought his book. I am looking for ways to apply this system in my life most effectively. Are you using David Allen's GTD system and how has it improved your life?
I don鈥檛 know you or anything about you. It makes suggestions a little hard, so all I have to go on is my own experience here. I鈥檒l tell you what I use it for.

I write fiction (so far, just for fun), knit, crochet, work in stained glass, have two grown kids and a husband, cook a lot, play pub trivia, rent out a home I own, helped my husband run a consulting business for a while, like to see as many live music acts as possible, pay bills, and on and on and on.

I find the filing system to be really helpful once you spend a little time getting the folders and setting them up. I use the inbox the way he suggests and the daily filing instead of a calender for my to-dos.

I have folders for each kid, my husband, things I want to read and why, projects for the future (some of them in particular other places and some in what he calls the ';someday maybe'; folder), a ';cooking'; folder, and a lot of writing folders for characters, plot ideas, and other things that could be developed into a story, folder for my house, a whole range of things.

I keep blank notecards in my purse or courier bag and I write down one thing per card. This comes in handy when I hear a band I want to know more about, I鈥檓 talking to someone who mentions a book I鈥檇 like, I see something that makes me think of a story idea or design I don鈥檛 want to lose, I get a call and realize I have to do thing X before Monday, I hear something I want to check out for a friend or my husband or my kids. When I get home I sort my cards into appropriate folders.

The next time I鈥檓 going shopping I get out my cooking folder --that鈥檚 what I was going to try this week. When my son鈥檚 birthday was coming up I pulled a folder that I have on him with all sorts of random stuff I鈥檇 been collecting all year that he鈥檇 like. When I sit down to write a story I have some outlines and character sketches in various degrees of readiness and a lot of little random thoughts written down. I put tickets to future shows in my ';live music'; folder. When I want to do a new stained glass project I look over designs. Sometimes have calculations for material amounts ready and sometimes I know that鈥檚 my next step in a design I want to do. (See the ';next step'; idea. That鈥檚 helpful, too.) I鈥檓 not repeating work because I don鈥檛 know where I put it.

I like doing this for a few reasons. If I write something down I鈥檓 not spending all my time trying to remember random things and my head is freed up for thinking about all the things I want to think about. I鈥檓 not having this slight panic that I鈥檝e forgotten to do something, pay something, or go somewhere. I don鈥檛 feel like I鈥檓 losing great ideas all the time anymore. (I certainly used to.) And I feel like I can get thinking done anywhere. If I am waiting for my trivia group to show at the pub I can be drawing my garden idea for next spring and not loose the idea or the time.

The daily folders for to-dos works better than to-do lists --once you take a few days to get used to it. If something comes up that changes your plans you can rearrange what鈥檚 in the folder instead of rewritting lists all the time. I find myself grabbing things out of tomorrow鈥檚 folder to do ahead of time when I can.

It separates out the have-to stuff from the creative stuff and lets you focus more on the creative stuff. The have-to stuff just becomes habit. So, shopping for ingredients in a timely fashion is a have-to. Buying yarn or working out how much glass I need is a have-to. Paying bills on time and checking on the status of something for the home or kids can be a have-to. The designing and doing are the creative fun bits.

I know this all sounds really overly organized before you start doing it, but it鈥檚 really great how much you鈥檙e freed up once your system is in place. Since I started doing this, I鈥檝e written more, gone on more trips, cooked more new dishes, completed more glass and needlework projects, seen more live shows, etc. than before. I鈥檓 fully doing whatever it is I鈥檓 doing at the given moment instead of doing one thing and trying to remember something else I need to do tomorrow.

I hope this helps.

Take care,

  • How to reduce your body fat percentage?

I'm 24, 5'0';, 109 lbs, and I got my body fat percentage professionally measured by this new thing called the ';Bod Pod';. It measured me at 30% body fat and labeled as ';excessive fat';. I'm a little weirded out consider I'm within normal weight range for my age and height. They told me to do more cardio but my question is I work out on high intensity for 6 days a week and I do 3 days of strength training.

How exactly do you lower your body fat percentage without losing too much weight. I want to get my body fat percent to at least 18%-22% which is considered 'normal.'How to reduce your body fat percentage?
Lose 4 pounds. The heavier the strength training the more muscle you have, therefore you have less fat. Run at least 1 hour at least 3 times a week. 21% to 24% fat is normal. 17% to 20% is the lowest I would go. My wife seems to be losing about 1% body fat every 4 to 6 weeks. If you lose 4 pounds and 3 of it is fat, that is what cardio will do for you, you will be 28% body fat. The easiest place for you to put on muscle would probably be your legs, next would be your back, those are the largest muscle groups. How to reduce your body fat percentage?
do cardio exercises 2 hrs a day, 4 times a week until you have the normal amount of body fat. search some cardio exercise videos on youtube
You lack muscle mass so my suggestion to you would be to do weight lifting several times a week wiih heavy weights and low reps, i.e. 8-12 reps x 3 sets of each exercise. Protein intake should be about 80g per day to help encourage muscle growth.

For cardio, high intensity cardio interval training 3 x per week is ideal. This is short bursts of high intensity activity for 30-60 seconds followed by 60-90 seconds recovery phase repeated for up to 15 minutes (plus 5 min warm up).

Also the normal body fat percentage range for women is 15%-30% so aiming for 20%-25% would be ideal.

How can you tell if your pregnant when your on your period?

or do i have to wait til im off to tell? thanks. How can you tell if your pregnant when your on your period?
OMG.....r u serious...How can you tell if your pregnant when your on your period?
Uh... if you're on your period, you're NOT pregnant.
If you're on your period then you're not pregnant...
Its VERY rare to be pregnant if you have your period.. So I doubt you are pregnant, unless you are one of those people who get their period in pregnancy, like i said, I DOUBT IT
If you had sex in the weeks prior to starting your period, and you started your period, then you are not pregnant.

If you had sex during your period and you are wondering if you are pregnant, you will have to wait until the next month to tell if you are pregnant. It is possible to get pregnant while having sex during your period, although unlikely.

How to tell your family you are married?

If one of your parents disapprove of your fiance...now husband...how would you break it to that parent that you are now married? The parent is just concerned and seems to think he is not worthy of you. I thought it was maybe because he didn't go to college, but that isn't it. She just don't know him. I believe it is more of the simple fact she doesn't know him. She is also scared that I will move and we have never been separated. Maybe we shouldn't have done this. How to tell your family you are married?
If you aren't mature enough to stop worrying about what your parents think, then you weren't mature enough to get married in the first place. How to tell your family you are married?
I think you should have told her you were going to get married before you did it. but seeing how it is too late for that, I would tell her sooner rather than later. She is going to be mad, but give her time to adjust. Tell her that you love her but this is the person you want to spend the rest of your life with. Plan things with her so she doesn't feel abandoned. Once she can see how happy you are and that you aren't going to leave her, she might feel better and learn to like your husband.
ah. You will regret forever not including your family in this. What about keeping it secret? Telling your parents you are serious about getting married and planning a wedding for your family.

I had a friend who was planning a wedding and they ended up getting married a year sooner so she could get insurance benefits. They celebrate the ';big'; wedding, and no one in her family knows (5 years later) they were already married.

Not the same thing, but it is something to think about :)

That may cause a lot of hurt to your family. So if you do tell him, just expect them to be upset. Obviously it is partly their fault for not approving, but parents usually know what they are talking about!
If its a matter of your fiance/husband and your parent not knowing one another well enough, that may have been something to discuss with your parent and try to remedy prior to getting married. Getting married without telling your parent (mom) is going to hurt her tremendously and that will not bode well for her relationship with your husband. I would take her out to lunch or have her over for dinner and break the news to her gently. The longer you keep this a secret, the more hurt she'll be. The fact is, he's now your husband and you two consider yourselves adult enough to make that decision so now you have to behave like adults and deal with the consequences of your union, good or bad. P.S. It worries me that you doubt whether you should have gotten married. If you two love one another and have thought through your decision to get married, you shouldn't be doubting it now. Perhaps that is/was your mom's worry.
Your last statement says a lot to me: ';Maybe we shouldn't have done this';. That sounds like the truth of the matter. You snuck off and got married in secret, and perhaps didn't think the whole situation through.

Parents are naturally concerned and want the best for their children. If you really think it was because she didn't know him well enough, then why didn't you take the time to help them get to know each other better? Forcing her into this relationship because he is now your husband is not going to make that any easier. As far as moving away, who is more attached, you or her?

I think you all need to sit down and talk about this. Just be honest. It probably won't be easy, but what's done is done and you have to deal with the situation as it stands now.

    Good luck.
Actually you should have discussed with them beforehand. But by looking at what you written there, you think you made the right choice and they just don't know him well. Anyway, you did it now didn't you? So the only way is to bring your husband along with you, sit down with your parents and tell them the truth.

You should understand your parents will never disagree if they think there's nothing wrong. So prove to them. Let time tells it all.

But don't try to cheat them or what. It will really upset them if they found out.

    Best of luck.

    Cheers.

How often do you really make love to your spouse instead of just wam bam done.?

I feel that's the most important thing you can do for your relationship. To show your true feelings for them. I try to make love to my wife all the time. It's always better for us both that way and better for our relationship. How often do you really make love to your spouse instead of just wam bam done.?
About twice a week. He wakes me up to make love pretty often. It's so sweet. But usually we just have awesome sex. I like both. How often do you really make love to your spouse instead of just wam bam done.?
i dont think human intimacy is very healthy at all
Sometimes twice a day. Never wam-bam unless we both are in the mood for that but then afterward we usually do it again much slower.

Sometimes wam bam has it's place if both parties are interested in that.
    Are you asking a question?

    Or

You are answering your own question.
well arent you special....and it's good that you want to show her how you lover her with love making but I am assuming you also show her your love by being a good husband and father to your kids and by being respectful to her and never making her ask more than once to throw out the trash. you see i had a husband who would ';make love'; to me every nite...how could he not. I was hot and willing. But outside the bedroom his ';love'; was lazy, indifferent and uninvolved. so MEN, while making love sounds sweet and endearing, REAL love is actually being a REAL partner in all aspects in the relationship.

I am not assuming you are neglectful outside the bedroom....just consider this a public announcement. I would hate to think men are deluding themselves into thinking that making love is ';enough'; in showing love.

How long does it take for a piece of mail to get from upstate New York to Southern New Jersey?

If the mail was sent from Upstate New York on Friday, and it's now Monday, when should we expect this mail to arrive to South Jersey? A regular envelope, nothing fancy. Thanks for your answers! How long does it take for a piece of mail to get from upstate New York to Southern New Jersey?
should have been one day.How long does it take for a piece of mail to get from upstate New York to Southern New Jersey?
one day to six years or more
Regular letter mail should arrive in three business days, with Saturday being a business day for the US mail. Assuming the letter was picked up by the Postal Service on Friday, it should normally arrive pretty much anywhere in the United States on Tuesday.

If the letter sat in the mailbox until Monday (most street mailboxes aren't emptied on weekends), the letter may not arrive until Thursday.
Two days seems right, but Sunday does not count. If it was mailed before the last pick-up on Friday, expect it Monday or Tuesday. If it was mailed after the last pick-up from somewhere with no Saturday pick-ups, do not expect it before Wednesday.
Was it dropped at the Post Office on Friday morning or evening?

If left after 3pm at the office, consider that Saturday.

If dropped in the box on the road after noon, consider that Saturday.

Since those mail takes 2 to 9 days (as it not guaranteed) Tuesday is the 2nd business day from Saturday. Look for it to arrive tomorrow on 5/4/2010. The latest it should arrive is Wednesday 5/12/2010. After that, it is most likely lost.

If the sender did not put enough postage, its going to be returned proving there was a return address and that is going to delay it.

How long is alcohol in your blood stream?

I had at least four beers about, 30 hours ago. I'm going to the doctor today and I'm pretty sure I'm going to have to get my blood drawn.

Another fallowup question if anyone knows is if they are drawing it for medical purposes not relating to alcohol (most likely nutrient count, etc.), will they test for alcohol as well? How long is alcohol in your blood stream?
I say around or a little more over 24 hours and it depends what beer it was because some beers have more or less alcohol levels in them. How long is alcohol in your blood stream?
It takes your body around 1 hour to process 1 Unit of Alcohol, so that's about half a pint of beer or one 25 ml shot or 2/3 of a 125 ml glass of wine. That number is for people with a healthy liver. For others, it may take longer.

Alcohol is metabolized at the rate of .015 of blood alcohol concentration (BAC) every hour. 1 Thus a person with a very high BAC of .15 will have no measurable alcohol in the bloodstream after ten hours (.15 divided by .015 = 10). Here are some other examples:

BAC Level Metabolism Time in Hours

    .10 6.66

    .08 5.33

    .05 3.33

    .02 1.33
    First question:

    8 hours

    Second question:

    No
It depends on your height and weight along with factors such as how hydrated you are. The more water you drink, the quicker it will flush out your system. Alcohol affects literally every organ in your body. Your liver is processing the alcohol even as we speak and your kidneys are doing the dirty work of filtering- I highly doubt that ';they'; will test for alcohol unless you are on parole or otherwise have been informed that they are doing as such. Alcohol will affect nutrient content if that is what they are testing for-because alcohol affects your blood sugar so adversely, and will affect the absorbtion of sugars, protien in urine, etc etc. I don' t see why you are so worried. Unless of course your underage. Simply tell the phlebotomist ( the nurse that draws your blood) and the doctor you have had consumption of alcohol in the previous 48 hours. They will either give the go ahead or, reschedule. good luck, kid.

  • How to apply your make up to look younger?

any tips for applying make up and colours to use to create a more youthful appearnceHow to apply your make up to look younger?
Glow, and natural! (Going to try to keep this as cost efficient as possible!)

Make sure you have the PERFECT eyebrows. Eyebrows can make you look 10 years older, or 10 years younger. The perfect eyebrows for you, MAKE YOU. Go to an eyebrow specialist near you if you aren't sure about yours.

Get a smooth canvas... PRIME YOUR FACE! LOL. (It creates a smooth finish to your face)

since I'm thinking you're in the older age range I would definitely recommend this for a primer:

    http://www.maccosmetics.ca/templates/pro鈥?/a>

Now, get a nice colour over your face, that also gives you the appearance of glowy, dewy skin. For foundation i recommend ';Revlon photo ready foundation'; now this foundation does have sparkles, but those sparkles give your face a nice glow. This product is about 10$

Now use your daily face powder to set the liquid foundation. (Liquids ALWAYS have to be set by something dry to make them stay) don't put a lot just a dust over your face to set it so you don't lose the glow.

Now I found highlight.... take any shimmery white eyeshadow you have in your house (white, beige, something close to your skintone) and put some on a small contour brush and sweep the shadow on the spots the sun would naturally hit your skin. (Top of your cheek bones, bridge of your nice, cupids bow, forhead, and chin) If you have an oily T-ZONE skin the forehead, and the bridge of your nose)

Now take a warm blush (NYC has these duel toned mineral blushes and that lovely, take a nice pinky gold one from there and sweep it on your cheeks lightly, but closer to your contour area, it will slim your face and give you nice colour) This would be about 3$

Now that your face is done let's switch to eyes!

Get a nice eye primer for your eyes... I always slurge on primers, and eyeliners for the goodness of the quality...

so for your eye primer I would def. go with this one:

    http://www.sephora.com/browse/product.jh鈥?/a>

Put that all over your lid till your brow bone and rub it in.

    1) Put a matte beige shadow all over your lid to your brow bone (creates a smooth base)

    2) put a shimmery champagne colour on your lid.

    3) Take a nice bronze and put it in your crease and your outer cornor.

    4) Take a blending brush, blend lightly, lightly.

    5) take a nice bronzy eyeliner (black is too harsh) and put it on your upper lashline, extending it into a wing, making your eyes look longer, and wider and more awake

    6) Take a white eyeliner and put it on your waterline and in your inner corner of your eye ( blend the inner cornor) That will expand your eyes to the biggest possible!

    lips:

    Stay neutral!

    1) moisturize your lips, make sure they're smooth...

put a nice natural colour lipstick on...

and in the middle take a gloss and dab it in the middle of your lips.

    There you go! Youthful makeup

p.s don't forget your curled lashes and mascara! How to apply your make up to look younger?
Try Covergirl on line. All you have to do is sign up load a photograph of yourself, and have fun trying on different looks. They also have live chat with a beauty consultant that can advise you on different styles of makeup.
To look younger, less is more.

To look OLDER, pack on the foundation.. it's sad, but once it settles into your laughing lines etc , it just emphasizes your age :'(
The best way too look younger is to try to keep all the colors as natural as possible. Go for a more natural look. Instead of using a eyeliner pencil use the shadow liner as it tends to look more smooth and natural as appose to the regular liner that looks sharp and darker. Neutral Colors is always a plus...so key is to LOOK AS NATURAL AS POSSIBLE!!
Mix a bit of highlighter into your foundation, this will reflect the light off of your face and ppl won't notice and fine lines or wrinkles. The best thing to do though is to work with your skin texture and your base.. there are lot's of serums (some quite expensive unfortunately) which plump out your skin (making it look plush and youthful and filling out any lines). Loreal Genefique (I think that's the name - it's in a black bottle) is very good for this. Then use a thick foundation which is meant for anti-aging and plumping out the skin. Lancome's range is very good! The plumping out of the skin is what will make you look younger. Microdermabrasion and chemical peelings are great anti aging treatments also if you want to go to the extreme. Drinking green tea and lots of water, not too much alcohol, lots of good fats (nuts, oily fish, olive oil, flax oil) are also great. Colonic irrigation is good because it cleans out your system really thoroughly and it's easier than detoxing :-p apparently the build up of mucus and other substances in the colon are responsible for aging us faster. Always make sure you have a sun factor of 20 on your face (from your moisturiser or your foundation) even in winter, do always moisturise day and night after cleansing your face. Do a weekly hydrating / anti aging face mask.. and avoid sunbeds like the plague. Good luck.

how does social inequality affect your life? do you experience privileges/ barriers to opportunities based on how you look or because of your culture( age, race, gender, sexuality, ethnicity, disability)? and how do these privileges and barriers affect your social interactions?

Transsexuals face the major barrier of not being able to serve in the military as a result of policy. I at one point wanted to join, but realized I couldn't because of this. When others speak about their positive experiences in military (ex. the pay, the acquired skills, the experience) I sometimes feel distanced and depressed because I will never be able to have this positive experience.

Parents: I am going to re-ask this question (from months ago): how old was your child when...?

they walked with you in the grocery store (for example) and did not have to sit in the cart?

Last time I asked this lots of people said that they never used carts, and so I tried it, and I will never do that again. Even though he was being 'good' he still had to 'show' me everything; which meant he was touching items on the shelf. And when he promised not to touch the peanut butter, he then promptly went over to 'show' me jelly (for instance). It was a disaster. He is now condemned to the cart indefinitely.Parents: I am going to re-ask this question (from months ago): how old was your child when...?
lol. as soon as they could walk ... when they went with dad. which i found tremendously aggravating because of course then when they went with me they wanted to walk, too. it's all very well to take an hour at the grocery store if you only do it once every couple of months, but as the one who did all the rest of the shopping, i was annoyed that he let that cat out of the bag.

when i talked them back in, i tried to keep them there till sometime in the mid-2s (eta -- maybe it was 3s, actually). but actually at our grocery store they now have the carts that look like toy cars with steering wheels, and even my 6-year-old likes to drive those things.Parents: I am going to re-ask this question (from months ago): how old was your child when...?
Mine were between 3-4. Part of it was because of their sizes as I think 3-4 years old is definately big enough to walk on their own. Part of it was that the kids get tired out walking around.

I had rules, though. The first rule is that whichever kid was with me had to always have a hand on either my belt loop or the cart. No exceptions.
My daughter stopped going in the trolley just before her third birthday (only because my son was born and now have to use the trolley with the car seat holder thingys) she used to run round the shop touching everything until someone bowled her over with their trolley, that solved all my problems, she now walks sensibly and touches nothing.

Now I've discovered online shopping it's way easier then dragging two kids round ASDA
i think my kid was about 4. at that point, i could barely get him in those seats without taking off his legs.
My son is 3.5, and I still keep him in the grocery cart. I can get the shopping done much faster and with much less stress without having to keep one eye on a super-quick, super-sneaky toddler.

Every great once in a while, my husband goes shopping with me. That is the only time my son gets to walk with us in the store. And that's only because my husband can keep an eye on him while I shop.
my first two are close in age so i used a double pram and only shop when there was two parents, my son was about 20months when i started to let him walk because i didn't really have a choice as my husband got a job working away. so he would walk and i would put my 6months old in the cart
Oh god. I just had a flashback of when I let my 17-month-old push the ';shopper in training'; cart. What a mistake that was!! She's almost 20 months now and is not free to walk at the grocery store. She likes the carts that look like racecars and will ask to ride in them, at least, so although that cart seems to be 20 feet long and impossible to steer, it's a compromise I'm willing to make. :)
My 7 year old still likes to sit in the cart.

She would occasionally walk through the store but usually she would hold big sisters hand, so I didn't really didn't have that problem.

Confine that boy so you can shop in peace! :p
    lol!

my six year old still begs to go in the buggy... and i wouldn't never attempt to make Timothy walk... and he's 4!... however our eldest son was good to walk around the age of 2. It really just depends on the kid... no two are alike!

    power to the carts!!!
    around 4-5

I put them in the cart...until they didnt fit anymore :) who in there right mind would ';never use carts'; and why would you listen to them? I used to do the groceries with my kids until the number of kids exeeded the places in the cart.

two up front... baby carrier on the top half (2 level carts)...by then there was one old enough to walk with me...

but now I do the grocery shopping at night....
My daughter is 3 and must sit in a cart. She'll run off otherwise and I'd have to chase her down. If I'm just going in to grab one item, I will hold her hand or let her hold the item to keep her occupied.

One time I let my husband be in charge of our daughter and the cart at Walmart while I was in another dept looking at something. He let her get out of the seat part and ride in the cart part. We were on our way to check out (him still pushing) and a lady walked out in front of us. He stopped the cart abruptly and our poor daughter had her hands on the front of the cart facing out and she flipped clear over the cart and landed on the floor! She was not hurt, but she cried b/c it scared her. That's the last time my husband was in charge of the cart let me tell you. He got a huge lecture.
She'll be 3 next month and I keep her in the cart still. I tried cartless and shed end up shopping and then I'd spend more time putting her purchases back than doing our shopping.
I believe I may have allowed my child to be at least 4 or 5 years of age. I think at this age they are able to participate in helping you shop versus being curious and pulling items off of the shelves. Also, it鈥檚 probably safe for them to remain in the cart. I guess it comes down to your child鈥檚 maturity level and your motherly intuition.
At 3 he was able to but even at 5 he still wants to ride instead of walk
    dont know
First of all thank you posting the question. I am curious to see the answers. My son turned 3 in December, and I wish he would ride in a cart, he refuses, and has so since about the age of 2,he wants to be independent. I Absolutely hate going to any store, because he does the same thing, grabs stuff off the shelves and throws then in the basket, (by the time I check-out I don't what half of the stuff I have in my cart is...LOL), not only that he runs around and I have to chase him it's so embarrassing. If I do try to put him in the cart he screams like he's getting beat, and that's even worse.
It depends. My almost 3 y old wants to walk but once she starts running off, I'll put her back in the cart. My 4 and 7 y olds walk most of the time, if not they sit in the basket of the cart, not on the little seat
    Four.
I'll be 41 in June and I still touch everything.
I have always let my kids walk with me as soon as they could walk.

We are quite the spectacle sometimes, me and 6 crazy kids. What the hell I like looking like a mormon
We could do it now at 24 months if I wanted to pull my hair out and take twice as long. I only let him out of the cart if we are picking up a few things and I only need a hand basket- not major shopping!!
With my daughter who is now 15 I think she was about 3. She got too big to sit in the seat part of the cart. I don't remember her doing anything crazy with me. She was pretty good. Now I have a 18 month old son. It should be interesting to see how he will be. He already likes to throw food out of the cart. Well in some of our grocery stores they have a play area for kids while you shop. I am not sure what age they begin. So I may do that when my son gets older.
lol@ dread head mama....';Power to the carts';....if I didn't use the carts i would spend all my time chasing him around the store instead of shopping..and mine is 2 1/2...hell i still use my stroller when i go to the mall...
I let my 2 1/2 year old walk sometimes, as long as he behaves himself. If he starts trying to run off or touches everything on the shelf, then I put him in the cart. He loves to walk, so for the most part he behaves himself. On the other hand, my 6 year old likes to ride in the back of the cart sometimes. I know, I break the rules. He didn't go through his terrible 2 phase until he hit 3, so he was in the cart until 3 1/2 or 4 because he wouldn't listen. You don't listen, you go in the cart.

Another trick that they like is to ride on the front of the cart. You know, hanging onto the push bar with their feet on the bottom shelf thing. (sorry, don't know the technical names of them) If my 2 1/2 year old is acting up, I'll sometimes try that before putting him in the cart. That way he's under control and he still feels like a big kid.

    Being faithful to your partner?

What are some quotes, philosophies or statements you you believe to be relevant when it comes to staying faithful to your partner?

Also if you have cheated or been cheated on what went through your mind and what would you say to yourself if you could go back and speak to your old self knowing what you know now?

How do you believe the other person felt?

If you have never experienced any of this then what are your thoughts?Being faithful to your partner?
    Do you like crabs?

I would love to spend my whole life sleeping with whoever I like but the truth is there are some nasty diseases out there, if you play russian roulette you know that your luck will eventually run out. Being with someone just for the sex is exciting at first but be honest, wouldn't having someone care for you be more important. Will that person who loves passion and sex be there for you when the chips are down?Being faithful to your partner?
I dated a guy for a year. After we broke up, I found out he cheated on me. It made me think I wasn't good enough for him, he needed another girl to make up for what I lacked. Also, It made me believe he never loved me or cared at all. If you're willing to cheat on someone, you must be willing to lose them. I think he felt a ting of guilt. However, it wasn't enough to fess up and become a man and face me.

i think monogamy is stupid. an exclusive love relationship is great but i think people should have sex with whoever they want seeing as love and sex CAN go together but the definitely dont have to.

humans love to suppress their animal instincts, very stupid.
I think its sucks to be cheated on, you feel betrayed and hurt and angry, like a piece of you is stolen forever.

You need to have a wireless router. then you go to settings and internet then set up a connection. How to get wifi for your nintendo wii?
On the Wii, go to the Wii menu, then 'Settings' then 'Internet Connections'. The Wii will then give you a choice of wired or wireless. Depending of what you chose, it will tell you what to do.
if you have a wireless router than just read the instruction manual for installing it for your Wii. it's that simple.

  • How do you make your bed so that it looks like it does in magazines?

okay so when i look in magazines at the bedding section, the beds always look so pretty and full of blankets and duvet covers and pillows, but mine just looks like a comforter with two pillows.

haha i know this sounds weird but i was wondering if there were steps or something on how to make your bed like they do in magazines....

(i just want to how to make your bed, so that it looks all fluffy and nice)

thanks(:How do you make your bed so that it looks like it does in magazines?
a very womanly answer but add cushions galore and your duvet cover plus a throw (comforter) or even 2, i agree those beds do look awesome. How do you make your bed so that it looks like it does in magazines?
I don't know about instructions but trust your own instincts.

The question is how to make a bed look like it does in a magazine? Money!! Start with the wall around your bed,add the kind of pictures you like, then start with the sheets and then blankets and pillows.

Add some lace or sheer curtains if you want to..Whatever you do,is good enough for you! It will be great!
I agree with the previous responder about lots of pillows %26amp; would add that you need a really puffy comforter or duvet. When you go to the store, you will see that some are flat and some are really puffy (usually synthetic) - go for the puffiest, plus check the measurements of the comforter vs your cover. A larger comforter stuffed into a smaller cover will make it puffier. Good luck!

How many of you hate your neighbors?

I cant stand my neighbors. Maybe I am too picky, but they really really annoy me. I live in a building that houses 6 families. Anyone else have annoying neighbors?

Feel free to share your stories! How many of you hate your neighbors?
you have no idea how much my family hates our neighbor.....they want them to actually die, basicallyHow many of you hate your neighbors?
    no,we love our neighbors %26lt;3
nope, my neighbors on the left are college ppl who just throw parties but they're never really around and my neighbors on the right are teenagers living at home with their 'rents who happen to have a cool band that practices everyday. The are both nice and they don't really bother us or anything. :)
I did, but they moved today! It's all good!
    I don't like my neighbors

When they have their huge parties, their guests always park their cars in front of our driveway. When my parents tell the owners to tell their guests to move their cars, they get pissed off. I don't think they should get mad because that is not right thing to do. Thats invading our property. Oh and when they have their loud music, its so annoying!!! But of course, we can't say anything%26gt;:I

I wished I moved out of the neighborhood:[

Exercising Newbie: Wants To Know How Not To Get Sore?

So just yesterday running on the rush of my new found love and relationship, I decided to start exercising so I could become healthy. So I started to exercise and now I am in quite horrible pain, it seems I overdid it. It hurts so badly, so I want to know.

    1. How do you avoid horrible muscle pain after exercising?

    2. How do you ease muscle pain when you accidentally overdid it?

    3. How do you know when to end your workout to avoid feeling really sore after?

    4. Is the burning sensation bad when you exercise? or is it good?Exercising Newbie: Wants To Know How Not To Get Sore?
As an athlete who always goes through the soreness after the beginning of sport season, I doubt you overdid it. With exercising, you need to challenge yourself. If your body isn't used to exercising so much, you will be in some pain until your body adjusts. Don't worry, before long it won't be so painful to exercise! One thing that really helps is to stretch before and AFTER exercising. This doesn't make sure you won't have any pain, but it certainly lessens the soreness you will have the next day. If you really think you overdid it, take a hot shower or bath. It may sound weird, but stretching in the shower is usually very helpful! I'm not sure what kind of workout you're doing, and when you should stop and how to know when to stop really depend on the type of exercise. For cardio (jogging, elliptical, biking), you should do at least 20 minutes of exercise that really has your heart racing and your breathing heavy. Also, there's nothing wrong with taking a little advil the day after your workout! It will certainly help alleviate some of the soreness. I'm not quite sure what you mean by a burning sensation, and it's unclear when you feel this burning sensation. It could be good or bad, and since I don't know the circumstance, I can't tell you which.Exercising Newbie: Wants To Know How Not To Get Sore?
    1. stretch

    2. I just put up with it... but i think taking a bath with some epsom salt helps.

    3. just end it after you really start to feel it... to be honest though it isn't bad that you are sore, just means you worked hard!!

    4. when I'm racing I have no choice but accept that burn but if you are just easing into running try to avoid that or you might overwork and injure yourself.
    1. Stretch stretch stretch! Do all kinds of stretches before attempting to exercise! It really helps. Stretch after exercising too.

    2. Take Advil. Haha. If that doesn鈥檛 help or if you don't have access to any use warm compresses on the areas that are sore.

    3. If you are running I would recommend running till you feel tired. As I said before if you stretch that will REALLY help.

    4. Nope! Happens to me all the time when I am going fast. I think it means that you are exerting a fair amount of energy. If it鈥檚 getting pretty bad then keep on going. Actually after awhile it feels better and you have a new wave of energy.

    Hope it helped!
Well i have a couple questions for you:

What did you do during your workout? How long has it been since you exercised on a regular basis? How old are you?

Since you are just starting a new exercise program and your body is not used to it- it is very common to be sore. Because you have been inactive, you need to start slowly and gradually progress to exerting yourself more, walking/running further, lifting more weights, doing more reps of an exercise, etc. Your body is not used to this activity so be gentle in your pursuit to get healthy.

As far as easing soreness is concerned, you can take a bath in Epsom Salt (available at most drug stores) or take some Ibuprofen.

for more information on exercising and nutrition, check out my blog at http://strive2bfit.com

    Good luck!
